Updates! Lots of updates…

So it’s been a while haha. I’ve been working on … a few things. New pages up for the 3 new games I’ve been working on, as well as a Commute Hub update.

The Commute Hub

This is just about ready to go to paid release. Last chance to try it out for free!

It has 9 Daily Games (twice-daily logic and word puzzles), and 6 Turn-Based games (correspondence-style turn-based games against other players, and no “boring common” ones.)

Try it here! (Email-based sign-up required, but that’s all. For now.)

Prototype number 1 - the low-APM RTS

If anybody remembers the game Netstorm: Islands at War, you’ll know the basics of this prototype.

It’s an RTS where none of the units move - you place buildings down that have unique firing arcs, ranges, damage, and health, and try to destroy the enemy’s Core building.

Unlike Netstorm, this is purely building-based - no mobile units for gatherers (you build a harvester on the Arcite Crystal directly), no spells, and no bridging. Most of the rest is similar - Generators (Relays), Towers, aerial launchers/anti-air units, and elemental factions (4 instead of 3!)

This is an early prototype - I’m currently testing and balancing units. That said, it’s ready for a wider distribution if you’d like to try it, and multiplayer should work correctly (but you need to set up Tailscale and coordinate that way outside of a LAN). The enemy AI has a lot of configurable stuff too - not just strength but how it behaves.

No single player campaign yet - that will be after I get the units balanced and verify multiplayer is actually fun first!

Prototype should be available soon - keep an eye on the following page: Netstorm Next

Prototype number 2 - a character-flexible deckbuilder RPG

Yeah, yeah, there are a million Deckbuilder RPGs out there already, right?

How many of them have 6 classes, with 3 talent trees of 10 talents each? (180 total talents)

Of those, how many of them allow you to select talents in any way that you want, from any talent tree in the game?

Yeah.

Want to play a Paladin? Take a Warrior and add Priest healing talents.

Want to play a shapeshifting Druid with a huge pet companion? Take a Shaman and add Beastmaster talents.

Want to play an Assassin with an army of summons? Yes, you can do this too and Solo Level for a while. Take a Rogue and add talents from the Priest’s Celestial (necromancer) tree.

And millions more! (Well, maybe not millions, but at least 87 more!)

This one’s not public yet - I have an extremely rough prototype, but am still going through major parts of the design. Other than the talents, which are done already! (all 180 of them) And the combat engine, which is mostly done.

Prototype number 3 - a “Space ARPG/VN”

This one is very early - it’s an ARPG where your spaceship is your character (upgrade it instead of leveling up), and the overall storyline is kind of similar to how Visual Novels are structured. Kind of.

Mission choices and outcomes change faction standing, which affects later mission and shop access. Will you choose to help the government? The tech consortium? The bandits? (or more, tbd!)

This one is very very early - I have things moving around on the screen and a whole bunch of ship/encounter framework, but not much more.

Yet.

Completed game #1 - Skirmish for Earth

Don’t forget about this one either! Skirmish for Earth is a completed tabletop card game - take over the Earth by outbidding and outbluffing your opponents.
